Animals in Farm Town

Animals are cute, cuddly, and fun to see running around your farm. They make great decoration and even perhaps company when you are spending time at your farm regularly plowing and planting crops. You can even send them to your friends as gifts for free so that they have a few animals around their farm to remind them of you.

These are all great aspects of animals in Farmtown. Unfortunately, animals don’t really have any practical use in Farm Town currently. What do I mean by this?

  • Animals cannot breed or reproduce
  • Animals do not get fatter as they eat, nor can you slaughter them
  • Selling an animal will only gross a small amount of coins, resulting in a loss if you paid for it
  • Animals can slow down your computer and gameplay if you have many of them and/or a slow computer

Basically, as it stands now, animals in Facebook’s Farmtown are great for a little entertainment around the farm but have very little to no practical use.

I like FarmTown just the way it is!! If you like the animals at Farmville…..then……I say……stay in Farmville. It’s just like someone coming to Arkansas from Illinois……..and the Illinois saying..”well, up north we……………………….(finish it yourself) I say to them to…………don’t like it here? Go back to Illinois.
(just using those 2 states as examples. Please, nothing personal. Just a senerio)

In Farmville, Animals are the worst investment. Calculate their daily payoff, and you’ll see Farmville animals aren’t worth the space they take up: compare 1 tree to a rabbit, or 4 trees to a pig, or 16 trees to a cow. See how much you collect daily or over several days. Even plowing fields each day for low-yield vegetables is more profitable than harvesting animals for the space they take up.
In Farm Town they are only cute and amusing–at least the game isn’t lying to us about whether they are worth our time. I like them as decorations in both games.

that is the only thing that is better about farmville. the farmville animals are creepy (all of them moving in sync), but useful!

I think animals are really cute and fun, it is like they have their own personality. It would be great if we could get some benefits out of them, like wool, etc. but I would not like them to be “frozen” like animals in FarmVille.

I agree about the animals .I enjoy my Farmville animals and sold all my Farmtown ones because they don’t do anything. At least in Farmvile I get eggs, milk, wool, duck down, goat’s milk and chocalate milk, and horse hair. Get with th program Farm Town and make the animals earn their keep.

    Yes, I agree with you.
Animals in Farm Town do not have any purpose just for decoration only.

Why doesn’t Farm Town make animals “harvestable” the way FarmVille does? Eggs from chickens, milk from cows, wool from sheep, etc.
