to plow/harvest/ seed faster. Right click on avatar. Scroll to QUALITY. Choose LOW. this will practically double your speed. TIP u must remember anytime u begin on another farm, or your farm, u must re-activate LOW as it only works for the current job. Good Luck.

The best way I’ve found to harvest or plow or plant is to work in threes. I start anywhere and harvest (or plow)the left of three fields then the right then the middle. I repeat this up and down or left and right. It seems to work really quicky.

    As of this writing…

Sometimes, starting at the top of a row and working down while making sure not to skip any squares does the trick. In fact, I can sometimes get away with doing an entire crop like this if it is planted within a single grid. This works from either the left or right sides. And,this works for harvesting as well.

(IF I start to work back up a row, the avatar will follow along and that eats up time.)

However, if I do make a mis-click while working down, which I often do, then here’s a way to re-set this stationary motion action: (1) back up one from the mis-clicked square, and (2) continue on down the same line.

This technique can be used working down while sweeping from one side to the next, in smaller sections–which is useful when working on a farm full of other harvesters.

Hope this helps, and happy farmin’! ~Jimbob Roy

It looks like with the most recent updates to FarmTown the best way to plow, harvest, & plant now is in a back & forth pattern. This means when you get to the end of 1 row start there on the next row. Hope this helps.

With the update that occurred last night (09/05/2009) this technique does not work anymre. My exseriance has been that no matter what direction or pattern you try and harvest in your aviator moves along with you and for me this has slowed e way down.. If anyone is finding it different for them please let me know

I cannot seem to plow. If hired to do so, i ended up deleted the already harvested plot. Help.

I have the same problem. I can harvest no problem…and can plow my own fields…but if I am hired to plow, their fields get deleted. I checked and in my tools the one about spacing is NOT checked. I want to be able to plow! :)

      1. Kerry

Make sure the checkmark is in the box that says remove spaces between fields.
That corrected the deleting of the fields for me.

      Same here

The person that hired you to plow needs to refresh their screen. That was happening to me and luckily a really nice lady had hired me that was on a high level and she told me that it was her fault not mine!

      Hope this helps..

The straight line harvest does NOT work on the Ubunu 9.0.4 version of the player. The avitar moves a lot puts up wait and saving messages every other field.

You can actually click all the squares in both plowing and planting, randomly, and then hit save, refresh page and it will reload completed for you. This is assuming you have the wait for each plant/plow option turned off on your settings. We can plow and plant an entire 24×24 in under two minutes this way. Hope this helps!
